Olivia Di Matteo

Olivia Di Matteo is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at The University of British Columbia. She joined the department in January 2022. Her research interests include quantum computing: compilation, circuits and algorithms; tomography and characterization; open-source quantum software; and education. She holds a BSc from Lakehead University, an MSc from the University of Waterloo, and a PhD from the University of Waterloo and Institute for Quantum Computing in Physics (Quantum Information). Prior to joining UBC, she worked as a Quantum Information Science Associate at TRIUMF and as a Quantum Computing Educator and Researcher at Xanadu, a Toronto-based quantum startup.
