Lukas Chrostowski

Lukas Chrostowski is a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at The University of British Columbia. His research interests include Photonic Integrated Circuits (PICs), Silicon photonics, Optical Communications, Biophotonics, Semiconductor lasers, and VCSELs. He has published over 200 journal and conference publications and co-authored the book 'Silicon Photonics Design'. Chrostowski joined the university in 2005 and was promoted to full Professor in 2015. He is the Program Director of the NSERC CREATE Silicon Electronic-Photonic Integrated Circuits (Si-EPIC) training program and has been teaching silicon photonics workshops and courses since 2008. He received the Killam Teaching Prize at the University of British Columbia in 2014.
