Regular biography
Karen Cheung is a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at The University of British Columbia. Her research focuses on biomedical microsystems for diagnostic and therapeutic applications, dielectric spectroscopy for flow cytometry, implantable polymer-based microelectrode arrays, and integrated cell culture systems. She holds a BSc and PhD in Bioengineering from the University of California, Berkeley. Cheung's work includes lab-on-a-chip systems for cell culture and characterization, inkjet printing for tissue engineering, and implantable neural interfaces. She teaches courses such as ELEC 361, ELEC 464, and ELEC 473.
