Hanne Collins

Hanne K. Collins is an Assistant Professor of Management and Organizations at the University of California, Los Angeles, Anderson School of Management. Her research focuses on effective listening in conversation, particularly the conversational behaviors that ensure people are both being and feeling heard. She uses experiments and computational social science techniques, such as natural language processing, to study these dynamics. Collins' work explores how people can navigate interpersonal conflict by correcting biased perceptions through verbal markers of receptiveness. She is originally from Vancouver Island and joined the UCLA Anderson faculty in 2024 after earning her PhD in Organizational Behavior from Harvard Business School.
