Mariano P. Consens is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical & Industrial Engineering at the University of Toronto. His research focuses on Information Engineering and Applied Machine Learning. He holds a PhD and MSc in Computer Science from the University of Toronto, as well as a Computer Systems Engineer degree from the Universidad de la Republica, Uruguay. Professor Consens has been a faculty member at the University of Toronto since 2003 and has over 60 publications. He has also worked as a research faculty member at the University of Waterloo and has been involved in the software industry as a founder, director, and CTO of start-ups.
