Jared Wunsch

Jared Wunsch is a Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Northwestern University. He received his PhD from Harvard University in 1998 and joined Northwestern in 2002 after postdoctoral and faculty positions at Columbia University and Stony Brook University. Wunsch serves as a Fellow of the American Mathematical Society and was awarded a Simons Fellowship in 2021. His research focuses on microlocal analysis and spectral and scattering theory, particularly how wave behavior is influenced by the geometry of the space they propagate through, including singular geometries. He was recognized with a WCAS Distinguished Teaching Award in 2011 and served as chair of the mathematics department from 2012 to 2015.
