Aaron Brown

Aaron Brown is a Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Northwestern University. He received his PhD from Tufts University in 2011 and held postdoctoral positions at Pennsylvania State University and the University of Chicago. He was appointed as a Neubauer Family Assistant Professor at the University of Chicago in 2017 and joined Northwestern's faculty in 2019. His research interests include smooth dynamics, group actions, and rigidity. Brown was awarded the 2021 New Horizons in Mathematics Prize for contributions to the proof of Zimmer’s conjecture and received an NSF CAREER grant in 2017. He gave an invited talk at the 2022 International Congress of Mathematicians.
