Regular biography
Ananth Shankar is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Northwestern University. He received his PhD from Harvard University in 2017 and previously held a CLE Moore Instructorship at MIT and a faculty position at the University of Wisconsin at Madison. Shankar joined Northwestern in 2023. His research focuses on arithmetic geometry and number theory, particularly Shimura varieties and abelian varieties, as well as arithmetic differential equations.
