Ursula Porod

Ursula Porod is a Professor of Instruction Field in the Department of Mathematics at Northwestern University. She received her PhD from Johns Hopkins University in 1993 and held postdoctoral positions at UC Berkeley and the Institute for Advanced Studies in Princeton. Prior to joining Northwestern University in 2009, she taught at Johns Hopkins University and Goucher College. Porod’s research focuses on random walks on compact Lie groups. She has received a Fulbright Fellowship (1985-1987) and a Miller Research Fellowship at UC Berkeley (1994-1996). She was awarded a Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences Alumni Teaching Award in 2013.
