Regular biography
Michael Maltenfort is an Assistant Professor of Instruction Field in the Department of Mathematics at Northwestern University. He received his PhD from the University of Chicago in 1997. After completing his degree, he served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Kenya and later taught at DePaul University and Loyola University in Chicago. From 2002 to 2013, he was a faculty member at Truman College. In 2013, he joined Northwestern University as a Weinberg College Advisor. His research focuses on simple mathematics, including problems accessible to those with a background limited to calculus.
