Yuan Cao
Regular biography
Yuan Cao is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences at the University of California, Berkeley. His research focuses on Physical Electronics (PHY) and Micro/Nano Electro Mechanical Systems (MEMS). Cao obtained his bachelor's degree from the University of Science and Technology of China in 2014, and his master's and Ph.D. degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2016 and 2020, respectively. From 2021 to 2024, he served as a Junior Fellow at Harvard University before joining Berkeley. His work explores the electrical properties of low-dimensional materials and their applications through cross-disciplinary approaches. Cao's research includes studies on superconductivity in twisted graphene and other advanced materials. He teaches courses such as Introduction to MEMS Design and Integrated-Circuit Devices.
