Alexei Alyosha Efros

Alexei (Alyosha) Efros is a Professor in the Department of EE at the University of California, Berkeley. He joined UC Berkeley in 2013, previously serving on the faculty of Carnegie Mellon University for a decade and affiliated with École Normale Supérieure/INRIA and University of Oxford. His research focuses on Artificial Intelligence (AI), Graphics (GR), and computer vision, particularly at their intersection. Efros is interested in using data-driven techniques to address problems involving large quantities of unlabeled visual data. He received his PhD in 2003 from UC Berkeley and has been recognized with several awards, including the CVPR Best Paper Award (2006), Sloan Fellowship (2008), and Guggenheim Fellowship (2008).
