Babak Ayazifar is a Teaching Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences (EECS) at the University of California, Berkeley. He joined the EECS faculty in 2005 and has focused on teaching, student learning, curriculum development, and mentoring. His research interests include Education (EDUC) and Signal Processing (SP). Ayazifar earned his BS in Electrical Engineering from Caltech and his SM and PhD in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from MIT. He has received several teaching awards, including the UC Berkeley Electrical Engineering Division's Outstanding Teaching Award (2008) and the IEEE Education Society’s Mac Van Valkenburg Early Career Teaching Award (2012). His work emphasizes pedagogical techniques, assessment tools, and innovative approaches to signal processing education.
