Bernhard Boser

Bernhard Boser is a Professor Emeritus in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences (EECS) at the University of California, Berkeley. His research focuses on Design, Modeling and Analysis (DMA); Integrated Circuits (INC); and Physical Electronics (PHY). Prior to his appointment at UC Berkeley in 1991, he was a member of the technical staff at AT&T Bell Laboratories. Dr. Boser has served as Editor of the IEEE Journal of Solid-State Circuits and President of the IEEE Solid-State Circuits Society. He is a co-founder of SiTime, a company commercializing MEMS resonators. His work includes research on sensors and sensor interface electronics, with contributions to MEMS, CMOS imaging, and wireless communication technologies.

Bernhard Boser is a researcher at UC Berkeley, specializing in integrated circuits, MEMS, and sensors. His work focuses on the design and development of advanced analog-to-digital converters, neural network processors, and micromachined sensors. Boser has contributed to the field of handwritten digit and zip code recognition using neural networks, as well as the design of ultrasonic fingerprint sensors and autonomous wireless sensor nodes. His research also includes the development of capacitive power transfer systems and the optimization of classifiers with high VC-dimension.
