JaeKyung Kim

JaeKyung Kim is an Assistant Professor in the BIO department at KAIST. Her research focuses on Brain Science, Neuroscience, Brain Disease, and Computational Neuroscience. Jaekyung Kim's research focuses on Learning and Memory, Sleep, Dream, Brain-machine interface, and Motor disease. His work explores the neural mechanisms underlying memory consolidation, the role of slow oscillations and delta waves in memory processes, and the interaction of sleep oscillations with motor recovery after stroke. Kim also investigates the dynamics of cortical-hippocampal coupling during motor learning and the impact of neuromodulators on memory stabilization. His studies on brain-machine interfaces and predictive homeostasis in neuronal activity contribute to understanding how neurons maintain optimal excitability. Additionally, he examines the role of dopamine and synaptic inhibition in cognitive functions.
