Yulong LI

Dr. Yulong Li is a Professor at the School of Life Sciences, Peking University, and a researcher at the PKU-THU Center for Life Sciences, IDG/McGovern Institute for Brain Research at PKU, and New Cornerstone Science Laboratory. He received his B.S. from Peking University and his Ph.D. in Neurobiology from Duke University, followed by postdoctoral research at Stanford University. Since 2012, he has established his lab at Peking University, where his research focuses on the 'synapse,' the fundamental unit for communication between neurons. His work involves developing advanced imaging probes to study the nervous system and investigating synaptic transmission regulation, particularly presynaptic transmitter release in health and disease. His group has developed novel genetically encoded optical probes called GRAB sensors for monitoring neurotransmitter dynamics in vivo.

Yulong Li is a professor at the School of Life Sciences, focusing on the development of genetically encoded fluorescent sensors for monitoring neuromodulators and neurotransmitters. His research integrates molecular engineering to create tools for in vivo and in vitro studies, enabling real-time detection of molecules such as dopamine, norepinephrine, acetylcholine, serotonin, and ATP.
