Chengqi YI is a Professor in the School of Life Sciences at Peking University. His research focuses on the pathways and mechanisms of DNA/RNA modification, including RNA modifications and epitranscriptomics, genome-editing tools, and TET- and TDG-dependent active DNA demethylation. He integrates chemical biology, epigenetics, and structural biology to uncover new functions and regulatory mechanisms of epigenetic modifications. His work has led to the development of novel sequencing technologies and genome-editing tools. YI holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Biology from the University of Chicago and has been affiliated with Peking University since 2019.
