Xiangjun TONG

Xiangjun TONG is a Professor at Peking University, School of Life Sciences, Department of BIO. His research focuses on the genetic, cellular, and molecular mechanisms of vertebrate embryogenesis, organogenesis, and organ regeneration, particularly in heart development and regeneration. He utilizes zebrafish (Danio rerio) as a major animal model. His work includes functional genomics studies, genome editing technologies such as TALENs and CRISPR/Cas, and single-cell transcriptomics. Additionally, he models human diseases in zebrafish to investigate underlying genetic and molecular mechanisms.
