Regular biography
Xiang YU is a Professor at the School of Life Sciences, Peking University. She holds the title of Professor and is affiliated with the Department of BIO. Her research focuses on the mechanisms underlying neural circuit development and plasticity, particularly the role of sensory experience in shaping functional neural circuits. She has contributed to understanding how early sensory inputs influence neuronal morphogenesis, synaptogenesis, and the formation of neural circuits. Her work includes studies on the regulation of synaptic transmission and the impact of neuroinflammation on brain development. She is also involved in the Autism Research Center at Peking University Health Science Center and serves on various editorial boards, including Neuron and Science China Life Sciences.
