Louis TAO is a Professor in the School of Life Sciences at Peking University, specializing in computational neuroscience and mathematical modeling of biological systems. His research focuses on theoretical and computational neuroscience, including statistical physics approaches to neuronal network dynamics, dimensional reduction of large-scale neuronal networks, and neural computations in pulse-gated synfire chains. He also explores mathematical modeling and data analysis of the visual cortex, as well as systems-level optical imaging and modeling of C. elegans and zebrafish. TAO is an editorial board member of several neuroscience journals and has contributed to numerous publications in computational neuroscience and related fields.
