Regular biography
Genji Qin is a Professor in the School of Life Sciences at Peking University. His research focuses on the molecular mechanisms underlying plant organ plasticity and development, particularly in soybean and Arabidopsis thaliana. His group employs molecular genetics, biochemistry, and molecular biology techniques to investigate regulatory networks controlling plant organ development and environmental adaptability. Qin has authored over 40 peer-reviewed articles in leading journals, including Nature Communications and Plant Cell, with more than 5,000 citations. He has also contributed to the education of plant science in China by co-translating two textbooks. Qin's work includes the cloning and characterization of key genes regulating plant development, such as TCP, EXB1, TIE1, and TEAR1, and elucidating their interactions with transcriptional regulators and E3 ubiquitin ligases.
