Teng Long

Teng Long is a Professor of Power Electronics at the University of Cambridge, Department of Electrical Engineering. His research interests include Power Electronics, Power Conversion Systems, More Electric Vehicles, Electrical Energy Storage, Renewable Energy, and Smart Grid. He has established the Advanced Power Electronics Laboratory (The Long Group) within the Department of Engineering. Prof Long has supervised 18 PhD students and 9 postdocs. His research portfolio spans power electronic devices to drive and power systems, primarily for transport electrification and renewable energy applications. He has secured over £5 million in research funding since 2017 and has collaborated with industrial partners such as SAIC Motor, Dynex Semiconductor, STMicroelectronics, Siemens, CBMM, and NIO. Prior to joining Cambridge, he worked at General Electric, where he contributed to significant projects including the first transformer-less all electric oil-platform supply vessel and the first large scale all electric warship.
