Florin Udrea

Florin Udrea is a Professor of Semiconductor Engineering at the University of Cambridge, Department of Electrical Engineering. His research interests include power semiconductor devices, power ICs, high voltage technologies, sensors, infra-red emitters, and detectors. His work spans high voltage technologies, such as wide bandgap devices and vertical power devices, as well as MEMS and microsensors, including CMOS-based gas and flow sensors. He is also involved in strategic themes such as energy, transport, and urban infrastructure. Udrea leads a research group in power semiconductor devices and solid-state sensors, with a reputation spanning over 25 years. He has published over 550 papers and holds over 150 patents. He has founded five companies, including Cambridge GaN Devices Ltd and Flusso Ltd.
