Patrick Vaccaro is the Irénée du Pont Professor of Chemistry at Yale University, affiliated with the Department of Chemistry. His research focuses on physical chemistry, with an emphasis on understanding molecular behavior through advanced optical spectroscopy techniques. His work explores the interplay between electronic and nuclear dynamics, contributing to fields such as proton transfer and hydrogen bonding. Vaccaro has developed novel spectroscopic methods, including polarization-resolved resonant four-wave mixing and cavity ring-down polarimetry. He has been a member of the Yale faculty since 1990 and is recognized for his contributions to chemical and physical sciences.
