David Spiegel

David Spiegel is a Professor of Chemistry and of Pharmacology at Yale University, affiliated with the Department of Chemistry. His research interests include Chemical Biology, Organic Chemistry, Biophysical Chemistry, Theoretical Chemistry, and Synthetic Chemistry. The Spiegel lab develops novel chemical methods to enable the synthesis of complex molecular targets, including natural products, with applications in studying disease mechanisms and developing therapeutic approaches. Students in his lab receive training in organic synthesis and molecular and cellular biology. His work has been recognized through various fellowships and awards, including the Dreyfus New Faculty Award and the NIH Director’s New Innovator Award.
