Duygu Kuzum is a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of California, San Diego. Her research focuses on nanoelectronic devices and neuroelectronics, including nanoscale engineering of materials and devices for brain-inspired computing, neural interfaces for studying brain circuits, and active implantable neurodevices. Kuzum has developed nanoelectronic synaptic devices that emulate synaptic computation and plasticity in the human brain. She is also working on tools to probe brain circuits with high spatial and temporal precision. Kuzum received her Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Stanford University in 2010 and her B.S. in electrical engineering from Bilkent University in 2004. She has authored over 40 journal and conference papers and has been recognized with several awards, including the Joan and Irwin Jacobs-Kavli Foundation Chancellor's Endowed Faculty Fellowship for Engineering the Brain and the Mind II.
