Keith Hodgson

Keith Hodgson is the David Mulvane Ehrsam and Edward Curtis Franklin Professor of Chemistry and Professor of Photon Science at SLAC, affiliated with the Chemistry Department at Stanford University. His research spans Inorganic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, and the Chemistry-Biology Interface. Hodgson's work focuses on understanding how molecular structure relates to function, particularly through the use of x-ray absorption, diffraction, and scattering techniques. His lab investigates metalloproteins involved in critical biochemical processes, such as nitrogen fixation and methane oxidation. Hodgson has contributed significantly to the development of synchrotron-based structural biology research and has led initiatives at the Stanford Synchrotron Radiation Lightsource (SSRL) and SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory.
