Laura M.K. Dassama is an Assistant Professor of Chemistry and of Microbiology and Immunology at Stanford University. Her research focuses on the Chemistry-Biology Interface, with current work centered on understanding molecular recognition mechanisms of multidrug transporters, rational engineering of natural products, and control of transcription factors related to sickle cell disease. Dassama holds a B.S. in Biochemistry from Temple University (2007) and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Pennsylvania State University (2013). She completed postdoctoral training at Northwestern University and served as a Research Associate at Boston Children's Hospital, Harvard Medical School, and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
