Jang Wonyul

Jang Wonyul is an Assistant Professor in the Department of BIO at Seoul National University. His research focuses on cell biology, molecular biology, and the study of organelles in eukaryotic cells, including their structure, dynamics, and roles in cellular functions. His laboratory investigates how organelles originate, remodel in response to cellular conditions, and recover from damage, utilizing advanced microscopy, labeling techniques, and biochemical approaches. Jang holds a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from KAIST and a B.S. in Applied Biology and Chemistry from Seoul National University. He joined Seoul National University in 2024 after postdoctoral research at the Leibniz Research Institute for Molecular Pharmacology and KAIST's Department of Biological Sciences.
