Ahn Kwangseog

Professor Ahn Kwangseog is a faculty member in the Department of Biological Sciences at Seoul National University. His research focuses on viral immunology, particularly the innate immune sensing of foreign and endogenous nucleic acids, host-virus interactions, and the role of SAMHD1 in immune regulation. He leads the Laboratory of Immune Regulation and has contributed to understanding mechanisms of microRNA turnover and viral immune evasion. Professor Ahn's work includes studies on herpesvirus genome import and retrotransposon activity. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and has held academic and research positions at Seoul National University, Korea University, and The Scripps Research Institute.
