His research focuses on mechanisms of plant cell differentiation, particularly using root hair as a model system, and the molecular action of auxin, a plant morphogen. His work explores topics such as the evolution of cell-fate determiners, signaling from the cell wall to the nucleus, polarity determination of auxin transporters, and diversification of auxin signaling. Cho holds a Ph.D. in Biology from Seoul National University and has held academic positions at Seoul National University, Chungnam National University, and postdoctoral roles at Pennsylvania State University and Michigan State University. His research has been published in journals such as Plant Cell, Molecular Plant, and New Phytologist.
