Giles Bergel is a Senior Researcher in Digital Humanities at the University of Oxford, affiliated with the Engineering Science Department. His research interests include book history, digital humanities, computer vision, and textual scholarship. He is a member of the Visual Geometry Group and the Oxford e-Research Centre. Bergel's work focuses on the computational analysis of books and cultural heritage collections. He serves as a Research Ambassador for the Visual AI project, engaging with digital humanities researchers and teaching computer vision. He is also a regular instructor at the Digital Humanities as Oxford Summer School.
