Armandi Wes

Professor Wes Armour is a Professor of Scientific Computing at the University of Oxford, affiliated with the Engineering Science Department. His research spans Data Science, Scientific Computing, GPU Computing, Signal Processing, Modelling and Simulation, and High Performance Computing. He is the Associate Head of Department for Research and was previously the Director of the Oxford e-Research Centre. His work includes the development of JADE and JADE2, a 700-GPU machine dedicated to advancing Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in the UK. He has led projects in supercomputing, signal processing, and machine learning, with applications in fields such as protein crystallography and radio astronomy. His research focuses on extracting science from data through modeling, simulation, and data processing, with an emphasis on optimizing computational techniques for scientific discovery.
