Regular biography
Paul Beard is an Associate Professor in the Department of Engineering Science at the University of Oxford. His research focuses on turbomachinery, computational fluid dynamics, numerical analysis, heat transfer, instrumentation, and turbines. He manages the Oxford Turbine Research Facility (OTRF), a major test facility designed and built by the Department of Engineering Science for the Ministry of Defence. Beard holds a college lectureship at Exeter College, where he earned both his MEng and DPhil. His work includes studies on heat transfer in turbine rotor blades and aerodynamic investigations of high-pressure turbines.
