Professor Andrew Hector is a member of the Department of Biology at the University of Oxford. His research focuses on biodiversity loss and its effects on ecosystem stability, functioning, and ecological services. He works primarily in grassland and forest ecosystems, including the Sabah Biodiversity Experiment in Borneo, which examines the impact of enrichment planting on forest regeneration after logging. He is also involved in the Nutrient Network, a global program studying nitrogen enrichment effects on grassland biodiversity. Additionally, he contributes to ecological statistical analysis.
