Steven Kleiman

Steven Kleiman is a Professor Emeritus of Mathematics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, affiliated with the MATH department. His research focuses on algebraic geometry and commutative algebra. Kleiman received his S.B. from MIT in 1961, and his M.A. and Ph.D. from Harvard in 1962 and 1965, respectively, under the supervision of Oscar Zariski. He was a Ritt instructor at Columbia University from 1966 to 1969 before joining the MIT faculty, becoming a professor in 1976. He has been recognized with fellowships such as the Sloan and Guggenheim awards, and has received honorary degrees and memberships in academic societies.
