Regular biography
Aleksandr Logunov is a professor of mathematics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, affiliated with the MATH department. His research interests include Harmonic Analysis, Geometrical Analysis, Complex Analysis, PDE, Nodal Geometry, Analysis & PDEs, and Geometry Combinatorics. Logunov earned his PhD in 2015 under Viktor Havin at St Petersburg State University. He served as a postdoctoral fellow at Tel-Aviv University and a member of the Institute for Advanced Study at Princeton before joining Princeton University as an Assistant Professor in 2018. In 2021, he was appointed a full professor at the University of Geneva and joined MIT in 2023. Logunov received the 2017 Clay Research Award, the Salem Prize in 2018, the EMS Prize in 2020, and the Breakthrough Prize in Mathematics – New Horizons in Mathematics in 2021.
