Gigliola Staffilani is the Abby Rockefeller Mauzé Professor of Mathematics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Department of MATH. She has been a faculty member since 2002 and became a professor in 2006. Her research focuses on dispersive nonlinear partial differential equations. Staffilani has held faculty positions at Stanford, Princeton, and Brown Universities, and was tenured at Stanford and Brown. She has received numerous awards, including the Guggenheim fellowship, Simons Fellowship in Mathematics, and the Earll M. Murman Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Advising. She has also contributed to MITx MOOC coursework and received the inaugural MITx Prize for Teaching and Learning in MOOCs.
