Tomasz Mrowka is Professor of Mathematics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Department of MATH. A graduate of MIT, he received his Ph.D. from U.C. Berkeley in 1988 under the direction of Clifford Taubes and Robin Kirby. He joined the MIT mathematics faculty in 1996, following faculty appointments at Stanford and Caltech. His research interests focus on differential geometry and gauge theory. Mrowka has held various leadership roles, including chairing the Graduate Student Committee and the Pure Mathematics Committee. He has received numerous awards, including the Veblen Prize in Geometry and the Leroy P. Steele Prize for Seminal Contribution to Research.
