William Minicozzi is the Singer Professor of Mathematics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he is also an Associate Head. He joined the MIT faculty as Professor of Mathematics in 2012. Minicozzi is a geometric analyst known for his work with Tobias Colding on major results in the field, including the resolution of a longstanding S.T. Yau conjecture and contributions to the study of embedded minimal surfaces. His research interests include geometric analysis, partial differential equations, and geometry. Minicozzi has received several awards, including the AMS Oswald Veblen Prize in Geometry in 2010. He has also been recognized for his teaching and leadership at MIT.
