Wei Wang is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. His research focuses on Networking and Computer Systems, including big data, parallel and distributed systems, cloud computing, and computer networking. He received his B.Eng. and M.Eng. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2007 and 2010, respectively, and his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Toronto in 2015. He joined HKUST in 2015 and leads the HKUST Big Data Institute as Associate Director. Dr. Wang has published over 100 peer-reviewed papers and has received Best Paper Awards at ACM EuroSys 2025 and ACM SoCC 2023. He serves as an Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Parallel and Distributed Systems.
