Qiong Luo

Qiong Luo is a Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). Her research interests include Data, Knowledge and Information Management, Software Engineering and Programming Languages, with a focus on database systems, parallel and distributed systems, and high-performance computing. Current research areas involve data management on modern hardware, GPU acceleration for data analytics, and database support for e-science. Prior research interests include web data management, XML query processing, pervasive computing, and sensor networks. Luo received her PhD in Computer Sciences from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2002, and her MS and BS in Computer Sciences from Beijing (Peking) University, China in 1997 and 1992 respectively.
