Regular biography
Professor Xiang Zhang is a Chair Professor at The University of Hong Kong, Department of ME. He is the President of the University of Hong Kong and holds a personal website at mech.hku.hk/academic-staff/zhang-x/. His research interests include materials physics, metamaterials, and nano-photonics. He has published over 390 journal papers, including more than 90 in Science and Nature family series. Professor Zhang has given over 350 keynote, plenary, and invited talks at international conferences. He received his PhD from UC Berkeley in 1996 and has held academic positions at Pennsylvania State University, UCLA, and the University of California, Berkeley. His work has been featured in international media, including BBC, CNN, and The New York Times.
