Weixin Song

Dr. Weixin Song is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at The University of Hong Kong. He earned his Bachelor and Master degrees from Central South University in 2012 and 2015, respectively, and his PhD degree from Imperial College London in 2019. Following his doctorate, he worked as a postdoctoral research fellow at Oxford University from 2019 to 2025. He joined the University of Hong Kong in October 2025. His research focuses on atomic-scale understanding and development of next-generation energy materials, including anionic-redox materials, Ni-rich oxides, NASICONs, and polyanions. Research areas include energy storage and conversion materials, secondary ion batteries, supercapacitors, and multi-dimensional transmission electron microscopy.
