Scholar-generated biography
Yuan Lin is a researcher in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at The University of Hong Kong, specializing in Cell Mechanics, Biophysics, Mechanics of Biological Materials, and Solid Mechanics. Their work explores the interplay between material properties and cellular behavior, focusing on mechanotransduction, adhesion, and the development of biomimetic materials. Lin's research includes the design of multifunctional hydrogels, nanocomposites, and aerogels with applications in biomedical and energy systems. They investigate how mechanical cues influence cell function, such as spreading, adhesion, and mechanosensing, using both experimental and computational approaches. Lin's publications highlight the importance of material timescales, stiffness, and dynamic properties in controlling cellular responses.
