Penghao Duan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at The University of Hong Kong. His research interests include turbomachinery design, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), computational mesh generation, and AI for CFD. Duan obtained dual bachelor’s degrees from Tongji University and Polytechnic University of Milan, followed by a master’s degree at ETH Zürich, where he conducted his thesis at the MIT Gas Turbine Laboratory as a ZKS-funded Visiting Scholar. He earned his doctoral degree from the University of Oxford and worked as a postdoc before joining the University of Hong Kong. Prior to this, he was an Assistant Professor at City University of Hong Kong. His work has involved service as a session chair at international conferences and as a Guest Editor for the journal Machines.
