Andrew Ho Chun WU

Dr. Andrew Ho Chun WU is a Lecturer in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at The University of Hong Kong. His research interests include Smart Grid, Big Data Analytics, Deep Learning, Bioinformatics, Biomedical Informatics, and Artificial Intelligence of Things. Dr. Wu holds a BEng (Hons) from the University of New South Wales, an MSc(Eng) and PhD in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from The University of Hong Kong. Prior to his current position, he served as a Lecturer at Hong Kong Metropolitan University and held part-time and visiting lecturer roles at other institutions. His work has been recognized with the President’s Awards for Excellence in Inspirational Teaching.

Ho-Chun Wu is a researcher at The University of Hong Kong with expertise in Computational Biology, Machine Learning, Smart Grid, Medical Informatics, and Time Series Analysis. His work focuses on developing advanced methodologies for load/price forecasting, demand response management, and power system state estimation. Wu has also contributed to medical informatics through projects like breast tumor segmentation and myocardial infarction detection using deep learning. His research includes robust statistical approaches, recursive dynamic factor analysis, and Bayesian methods for nonlinear systems. Additionally, he has explored EEG-based dementia classification and wearable healthcare systems. His publications highlight applications in wireless sensor networks, gene regulatory networks, and signal processing for biomedical data.
