Natalia Litchinitser, Ph.D., is a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Duke University. Her research interests include Nanophotonics; Photonic Metamaterials; Nonlinear Optics; Fiber Optics; and Photonic Crystal Fibers. Litchinitser holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology. Her work focuses on metamaterials that manipulate the visible portion of the electromagnetic spectrum. She has contributed to the field of optical metamaterials through her research at the University of Michigan and her faculty position at the University of Buffalo from 2008. Currently, her research explores topological photonics, aiming to direct light around tight corners using waveguides that prevent photon scattering.
