Regular biography
Dr YY Butt is a Senior Lecturer and Associate Director of the Professional Accountancy (PACC) Programme at The Chinese University of Hong Kong's School of Accountancy. He holds a Bachelor of Accountancy from Nanyang Technological University, a Master of Taxation from the University of Melbourne, and a PhD in Law from the University of Exeter. A Chartered Accountant, he previously worked as a Tax Manager at KPMG in Singapore and Hong Kong. His teaching areas include taxation, advanced taxation, Chinese taxation, and international taxation. His research interests focus on tax history, tax policy, and tax law. Dr Butt also contributes to public service through appointments on the Panel of the Board of Review (Inland Revenue Ordinance) and the Panel of the Resolution Compensation Tribunal, HKSAR.
