Daniel Stern is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Cornell University. His research focuses on geometric analysis, specifically geometric partial differential equations and variational problems inspired by geometry, topology, and mathematical physics. His work integrates local analytical techniques and global variational methods to study solutions of partial differential equations related to minimal submanifolds, harmonic maps, gauge theory, and geometric measure theory. Stern's research has applications in scalar curvature and spectral theory. He has published extensively in areas such as harmonic maps, energy quantization, and free boundary minimal surfaces.
